Healthier U Wellness Expo

If your New Year’s resolution is to stay in shape, look no further than Lone Star College-Montgomery’s “Healthier U” wellness expo, job fair and golf tournament. Now in its 20th year, the event is a community-wide wellness expo, job fair and golf tournament that provides scholarships for students while promoting healthy living in the community. Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival

Adopt & Shop Animal Rescue Event

Guests celebrated the work of United Way of Montgomery County, and women making a difference in the community at the United Way Women Who Rock Luncheon. The luncheon raised funds to help change the life of a young woman and her child by supporting the Young Mother’s Child Care Scholarship through United Way’s Women’s Leadership Council. Guests enjoyed a moving keynote address by Janine Shepherd.

The Mission of a Lifetime

The 11th Annual Wine Dinner honored Dr. Ann Snyder and was sponsored by Mercedes-Benz of The Woodlands. Funds raised help to support The Woodlands Rotary Club Foundation that supports scholarships and charitable projects in the community. The James Bond-themed event was held at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott where guests enjoyed dinner, drinks and casino-style entertainment including fabulous show girls and casino tables.

A Mardi Gras Affair

Hosted at Hubbel & Hudson Bistro, the CrawPHish Festival VIP Party celebrated the generous sponsors of the 2017 event, and attendees voted for the children’s artwork that will adorn the official 2017 CrawPHish Festival t-shirts. Guests enjoyed Mardi Gras themed decor and chef-inspired bites.

Making a Change

The Montgomery County Women’s Center (MCWC) held its 4th annual “Open Your Purse for Change” luncheon fundraiser at The Woodlands Country Club – Palmer Clubhouse. The event, chaired by Ally Seder along with co-chairs Shirelle Chimenti and Terry Larson, featured a guest speaker and a silent auction of fabulous handbags. MCWC serves the needs of victims of domestic violence, sexual assault or abuse and stalking from all areas of Montgomery County and surrounding counties.

The 31st Annual Taste of the Town took over The Woodlands Waterway Marriott and gave guests a chance to taste the best food in town. Featuring eateries and businesses from around The Woodlands, community members sampled the best dishes and libations in town, and had a chance to win one of the many exciting raffle prizes. Truluck’s took home the prize for Best Appetizer, while Huti’s 5 won Best Entree, and Sweet Revenge dominated with Best Dessert.

Community members were joined by current and former NFL athletes to raise money for Grant Milton and The 21 Strong Foundation. Hosted by Mercedes-Benz of The Woodlands, the event was highlighted by a silent auction, a live auction that included tickets to Super Bowl LI in Houston, and a live performance by Grammy-nominee Tauren Wells.

An Evening at the Museum

The 2017 CASA Speaks for Kids, “Evening at the Museum” Gala was held at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott. Guests enjoyed an evening of dining, music and entertainment. The event honored their team of volunteer Advocates and staff who, in 2016, helped them serve 100% of abused and neglected children in need in Montgomery County.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association teamed up to bring a live viewing party for the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards to The Woodlands. Guests enjoyed an extravagant red carpet cocktail reception, live and silent auctions, an inspiring dinner program featuring the courageous stories of local St. Jude Patient families and the live telecast of the 74th Annual Golden Globes at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott.
