Publisher's Note - Family Bond

When a builder builds the most important part of your house, the foundation, so are the strong bonds of family and good values that become the framework of a home.

We all want to “belong” and feel accepted. Family is where our roots take hold and it’s from there that we grow. We are molded within a unit, which prepares us for what we will experience in the world and how we react to those experiences. Values are taught at an early age and are carried with us throughout our life. This leads to this summer, now, that the kids and the sun are out! These are the times for you to bond with your family and enjoy the things around us. Go to the beach, go to a new flick, grab some ice cream, go on a vacation; just do something where you are really in the moment. I know schedules and time are easily distracting for us as parents. I am certainly guilty of multi-tasking work and play. However, I, too, am going to listen to the echo of my own note and bond with my loved ones and have fun! As you know, when it is all said and done, you only regret one thing and that is that you didn’t spend more time with someone you care for or love.
With summer right here and all the new trends popping up, it is time to start thinking about what’s in your closet and replace with those summer goodies. reviewit brings you items this month to keep your outfits fresh, to have fun with homemade popsicle ideas, and to check out for your summer essentials. So, whip out the shades and catch up while you are laying somewhere on the beach listening to the ocean and enjoying our summer issue.

The Woodlands: Gracepoint Homes

Main Content Inline

Do you remember when you could ice skate at the Warf, or party at the “Bottom of the Lake” festival? Do you even remember when your parents would let you cross I-45 on your bicycle, or that the intersection of Grogan’s Mill and Woodlands Parkway was George Mitchell’s helipad? Much has changed in The Woodlands, but its growth continues to boom despite the economy elsewhere. In fact, The Woodlands is on pace to sell more than 850 new homes in 2010 with an 11% increase in average sales price from $376,000 in 2009 to $420,000 in 2010. Altogether this year, new home sales are up 41% from last year!

Conroe/Lake Conroe - State Farm

Main Content Inline

To hear State Farm agent Shanon Salsbury phrase it, one of the differences between his company and others is the ability to deliver on the promise.

“That’s really what people want to know most of all,” Salsbury said. “Yes, they want good coverage, but most of all they want to know if there is ever a claim, we are going to be there for them.”

Salsbury and his team of state licensed employees definitely deliver on the promise to “be there” for their clients. When Hurricane Ike was approaching the coast, Salsbury made sure every insured client was called to let them know where to find the agency in the midst of a disaster, and during the relief of Hurricane Ike, they were easy to find and had bottles of water on hand for their customers.

Champions/Spring - Mirror Makeover

Main Content Inline

Today’s homes are more luxurious and beautiful than ever before. Older homes are being remodeled in order to add value, functionality, and style. In addition, recently constructed homes feature innovative architecture and well appointed features such as granite, crown moulding, and walls with designer finishes. But, regardless whether a home is 20 years old or 2 months old, there seems to be a commonality that has plagued homeowners since the beginning of time–their mirrors.
