June's Publisher's Note

How about fresh lemonade, games of kickball, trail rides, fun at the pool and best of all, no more alarm clocks for early morning wake-up calls; these are the pleasures of children young and old, who are ready for the lazy days of summer. Ever since spring break, lots of kids and their parents have been counting down the days until summer.

Now that it’s here, there are plenty of things to do. I always like summer; for one, my birthday is in the summer and secondly, the kids are home and it’s fun to hang out with them! We like to travel, camp, go to the movies, dine out, do some antique shopping or just simply relax. As we enter into the summer, this month’s issue shows off the fashion trends for pretty in whites to the latest golf styles for that active golfer.

By the way, we have had such remarkable success and positive feedback from for our personal and up close stories that I want to especially thank our devoted readers and community for all the praise and compliments that we are receiving.

So, we went in high search for Dads who exemplify the best dads and the entries just poured in. We have featured some of the best stories for that “world’s greatest dad” and, of course, what would our lives be without DADs! I can tell you my dad is a man that always strikes me with curiosity, but a man with loyalty who will do whatever it takes to make his kids happy and that says a lot. So, Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there and Happy Father’s Day to my husband who makes our children say, “Dad, thank you for just being there.”

Now, let’s get that sun bathing chair out and read the beautiful stories that will embrace your heart by sharing what makes good dads.
